CONCENTRATION (noun)

 

The amount of a substance dissolved in a certain quantity of solution. Concentration is stated in the S.I. definition of moles per litre. Abbreviated as "molar" and given the symbol "M." Also written as [ ].

Example: [HCl_(aq)] means "concentration of aqueous HCl."
