DIFFERENCE (noun)
The amount
of electric
potential between the anode
and the cathode of an electrochemical
cell. The greater the potential, the greater the driving force upon
the electrons within the cell. The potential is measured in units of volts
with a voltmeter and abbreviated
with the symbol "E."
