STRONG BASE

A base
that completely dissociates
in an aqueous solution
to produce an OH- ion and its conjugate
acid.
Example:
NaOH(s) + H2O(l) 
Na+(aq) + OH-(aq) + H2O(l).
Note that this is not an equilibrium. Strong bases typically are capable of
dissolving many substances.
